Born in Okarche, OK, Stanley Rother had a difficult journey to the priesthood and volunteered to go to Santiago Atitlán, Guatemala as a missionary. He faithfully served the physical and spiritual needs of the people in a time of great political difficulty. Rother was eventually murdered after refusing to leave those in his care.
